How i can install a Web Interface for Citrix XenApp 6.5?

There are several ways to launch Citrix applications for users, you can use the pnagent or you can ask to your user to connect to a web interface. In this article we’ll see how to implement a Web Interface for XenApp 6.5! As usual you’ll need Citrix XenApp 6.5 source, a virtual machine and few minutes before you. (you can install WI on the Citrix License server for lab purpose) Click on Install XenApp Server

Click on Add / Remove server Roles

Click on Add Roles

Choose Platinium Edition (according with your Citrix Licence)

Accept EULA and click on Next

Choose Interface Web and click on Next

You can see already installed components (License server in my case) and the component you want to add. Click on Next

The setup show you what it will do, click on Next

Click on Install

After a sucessfull install, click on Finish

Now the WI is installed, we need to configure it. Click on Configure button.

The Citrix Web interface managment console open, click on XenApp Web Sites.

As the printscreen below, click on  “Create Site”.

Follow the wizard and enter the WebSite name, be sure to check “Set as the default page for IIS site” and click Next.

Choose Web Interface, and click Next.

A basic summary is shown, click on Next.

After the creation of the web site, you need to configure it, so check “Configure this site now” and click Next.

Enter the Farm Name and add a XenApp 6.5 server, click on Next

Choose Explicit for authentication and click Next.

Click on Restric domains to the following and enter your domain name. Click on Next.

Choose the apperance of the Web Site, chosse Full, we can change it after if it’s too slow.

Choose Dual Mode, user can access to online and offline applications.

A brief summary is shown, click on Finish.

Now you can see your website configuration, click on “Preview Site” button.

This screen will appears and check if you have a Citrix client installed on your computer. You can skip this page if you have already a Citrix client.

Now you can enter your login and password to access to your Citrix application. Of course you need to have already publish an application in your Xenapp 6.5 server!

After a sucessfull logon you’ll see our application. In order to keep it clear if you have a lot of application: use folder!

Now i can launch my Citrix Notepad application (of course we need to have a Citrix client installed)
