How i can setup XenApp Services Sites in W.I?

For this lab you need to have a XenApp 6.5 Web Interface installed, if it’s not the case you can follow this article.

Ok, so we need to open Citrix Web Inteface and select XenApp Services Sites, click on Create Site.

Enter the name of the Service and click Next.

Click on Next.

Check Configure this site now and click Next.

Enter your Fram Name and Add a XenApp 6.5 server and click Next.

Choose Dual mode and click Next.

Click on Finish.

Ok, now the Service Site is created, there’s some setting to modify. So click on your new Service Site. You can see a basic summary of it.

Click on Authentication Methods.

Click on Properties.

Select Domain Restriction and add your Domain.

Select Password Settings, and allow user to change their Active Directory password and click on OK.

Ok, now we have a XenApp Services Site created and configured. We need to use another computer to make a test!

We need to install the Citrix client (Citrix Receiver). Launch XenApp iso you used before and choose Manually install components

Choose Common Components

Choose Plug-ins and Streaming Profiler

Click on Citrix Receiver (Enterprise)

The Citrix Receiver installation will start.

A sucessfull message will appear at the end of the install.

Citrix Receiver will ask you the url for your previously created Services Site. So click on Enter URL now.

You can verify the correct url on the XenApp Services Site.

Enter the correct path and click on Update.

Few seconds after the Citrix Receiver will ask you for login and password.

After clicking on Open a session, click on Program Files, any published application will appear. In my case i have created a “Tools” folder with Notepad and FileZilla application”.

Clicking on FileZilla will start the published application.

If you want to change some settings of the Receiver Client, then right click on the Receiver icon and click: Preferences.

Click on Plug-in-Status and selected Online Plug-in. Again do a right clik and choose change server.

Here you can change the url of the XenApp Services Site if you made an error before or have a new server.

You can show published appication on user Desktop, in my case in a folder named XenApp

After few seconds, it will appears on the user Desktop.
